Ubikis is providing a wide range of products and services enhancing the enterprise information system user's experience, inside and outside of the company network. Based on the open-source project Open Mobile IS, Ubikis technologies allow business applications development for nomad workers, on any kind of terminals (PDA, Smartphone, Desktop...) and on both connected and disconnected mode.

Open Mobile IS technology

Created in 1999, the Open Mobile IS technology is a java-based framework under LGPL licence optimizing the development of application for mobile devices. It's offering a complete toolbox of libraries and API making the development of mobile application more efficient and safe, with no need of third party product integration.

For a complete description of the framework components, please see the
technology page.

The project is hosted by the ObjectWeb consortium (founded by Bull, France Telecom and INRIA).
Objectweb goal is the development of open-source distributed middleware, in the form of flexible and adaptable components. These components range from specific software frameworks and protocols to integrated platforms. ObjectWeb developments follow a systematic component-based approach.
In 2002, ObjectWeb evolved into an international consortium hosted by INRIA, the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control. The consortium is an independent non-profit organization open to companies, institutions and individuals.
